GRAND CAILLOU/ DULAC BAND OF BILOXI-CHITIMACHA CHOCTAW INDIANS
Our Tribal Community of Grand Caillou/Dulac is located in coastal Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. We are The Grand Caillou/Dulac Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw Tribe and our people have been here for many generations. We have always had the blessing of Great Spirit to be able to live off the lands and waters. Today, times have changed drastically. From the effects of the damaging canals dug for oil and gas exploration and harvesting, hurricanes, erosion, salt water intrusion and more recently, the BP Oil Spill, our fruitful and prosperous lands and waters are no longer what they once were.
We have proudly joined in the creation of FPCC, so that we are able to take on the many issues that plague our communities. We work together to find solutions to restoring medicinal plants and herbs, historical site preservation, relocation for communities left out of the Master Plan and to combat land erosion and those are just a few of the issues we are working on to educate ourselves, so that we can not only help our communities, but to assist other Tribal Communities in the State of Louisiana. We are proud to be part of an organization that will work to really solve the issues and look forward to a great future as part of FPCC.
